Welcome to 3 Penguins Design

A Full Service Media Company

Mac Classic II

The year was 1991 - I had been saving for quite a while. I stepped inside a little Apple Store in Torrance California and laid about nearly $2500 for a Mac Classic II 8MB/80MB. I was convinced that I was the happiest man on earth at that moment.

Broke, but happy, I started designing newsletters and fliers for local businesses in order to recoup my investment. I have and still have an enormous passion to create and this little cube from Apple allowed me to do so in a whole new way.

Although the equipment has changed (thank goodness) the passion hasn't. It still there, always looking for new and exciting ways to convey a compelling message to the viewer. Whether a business or a private person, whether editing video for broadcast or transferring pictures of a child's birthday to DVD, we are here to serve you.

What We Do

Variety is the Spice of Life

full srvice3 Penguins Design is a full-service company. What does that mean? Well, some companies or individuals focus on just video, or just web design or just graphic design. We do it all and we do it well. How can we?

We work with a network of great designers who pool their areas of expertise into your project. This makes us like a General Contractor (in the good sense). 3 Penguins Design oversees your project to completion so that you get the best possible results without having to deal with multiple designers or creators. This ensures timely, cost-effective professional results.

Recent Projects

Variety is the spice of life... in action

epicorRecent projects have been quite of mix. But, variety is the spice of life, as they say.

First, we just completed a video project for Epicor Software (www.Epicor.com). The project was creation of 9 video Product Tours. It was a really fun project to work on; one - because the people I worked with where great and two - it's really cool software. As soon as everything is approved and posted I will link it up.

Camacho Felder RandeenSecond, just got the thumbs up from Blue Microphones (BlueMic.com) for a video I shot and edited. The subject was a mic shoot-out between the Blue Bottle and an AKG C-12 owned by Don Felder (formally of the Eagles). Don was there playing guitar and it was great hang. My good friend Les Camacho (Pink Floyd, Massive Attack, The Killers) was there running the console. VIDEO: Felder Mic Shoot-Out (flash)

Lastly, we just finished up to audio installation. The first was replacing the "mains" in the sanctuary of a church in Garden Grove. What was up there was old, heavy and less-than great sounding. We replaced them Nexo Speakers (www.Nexo-SA.com), which had a much smaller footprint and sounded great. (Take a look)

stageSecondly, Jeff Dykhouse and I installed a 24-Channel Sony Wireless Mic System for a High School Theater Deparment. It was amazingly slick. Twenty-four channels, with 24 Countryman head-set mics and 12 hand-held mics. As an added bonus, the control room was at the top tier of the theater so we got a lot of exercise. (Take a look)
